I am in the process of building a homemade CNC Plasma table. This table is designed to use a 4ft by 4ft work piece and utilizes LinuxCNC software with HobbyCNC electronics. Plasma cutter is an Everlast Powerplasma 60s with machine torch. This video goes over the frame and computer mounts and motion rails that I am using for the build. So here’s basically the bottom line:
Based on my generally positive experience with the FE20 so far, I’m inclined to say I would recommend it to a friend who wants a cheap and simple laser engraver with a large working area and enough power to cut through soft and thin materials. But then, this is my first ever CNC laser and I didn’t pay for it – it was sent to me by Fokoos. So I don’t feel that I am in a good place to steer you in either direction. Instead, my goal is simply share my experience so far, and to give you enough information to make your own educated decision.
