UPDATED DIY VERSION (I made better one): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-22mZZNXHo
I am in the process of building a homemade CNC Plasma table. This table is designed to use a 4ft by 4ft work piece and utilizes LinuxCNC software with HobbyCNC electronics. Plasma cutter is an Everlast Powerplasma 60s with machine torch. This video goes over the frame and computer mounts and motion rails that I am using for the build. The next video will cover electronics! Very fun build! A video showing my trucutcnc.com 4×8 Series1 plasma table in action cutting some aluminum sheet. I cant decide for you which CNC Plasma table is best for you, all I can do is share my experience with trucutcnc. In this video I walk through the trucutcnc owners facebook group, the support you receive from trucut, and how to walk through setting up a simple job.
If your thinking about building a DIY CNC Plasma table, consider one of the tructcnc gantry kits.

Laser engraving, which is a subset of laser marking, is the practice of using lasers to engrave an object. Laser marking, on the other hand, is a broader category of methods to leave marks on an object, which also includes color change due to chemical/molecular alteration, charring, foaming, melting, ablation, and more. The technique does not involve the use of inks, nor does it involve tool bits which contact the engraving surface and wear out, giving it an advantage over alternative engraving or marking technologies where inks or bit heads have to be replaced regularly.
The impact of laser marking has been more pronounced for specially designed “laserable” materials and also for some paints. These include laser-sensitive polymers and novel metal alloys.
The term laser marking is also used as a generic term covering a broad spectrum of surfacing techniques including printing, hot-branding and laser bonding. The machines for laser engraving and laser marking are the same so that the two terms are sometimes confused by those without knowledge or experience in the practice.
This video is part 1 in a 4 part series on building a new CNC Router. This video covers the design and components that I have decided on using.

This has been a massive project for me, I started it over a year ago and it has taken the whole of lock down to get to this point. I hope you enjoy it!
Loads of people have asked for the CAD files. I was planning on releasing the finished CAD with the last video as I am regularly updating it as I make changes to the design but since so many people are asking here is a link to the unfinished CAD:

The design is not finished yet, still lots to add, and I’m not sure if the link will update as I update the design, but a final version will be included in the last video.
