In this video you’ll learn about a used, newly upgraded Gerber Sabre 408 CNC Router which is currently available for sale at CNC Experts.

★ About Us:
Increase production by 40% without hiring new staff using a cnc machine!

CNC Experts helps companies and individuals increase revenue and expand their creativity using automated cnc machines such routers, lasers, and plasma cutters.

★ Machine Details:
This Gerber Sabre model 408 cnc router is recently-upgraded with a brand-new control system including AC servo motors, drives, and cabling. This makes it ready to keep running for the next who-knows-how-many years without being a pain in your duff (FYI: Gerber machines are workhorses that last and last).

The 7.5HP Perske high frequency spindle is ruggedly-built and can withstand a lot of cutting force. That makes it ready to do just about any work you put in front of it. Here in our shop, we have successfully cut 1 inch thick 6061 aluminum plate on it without a hiccup.

The following items on this machine are all new:

– new AC servo motors
– new servo drives
– new motor and encoder cables
– new control backplane with Windows-based cnc control & power supplies

It includes a used Dell All-in-one computer (in good condition) with Windows 10 and a touchscreen interface to the control. This makes the machine easy and enjoyable to use.

The machine has some “road wear” in the form of cosmetic defects (see front cosmetic cover). That means you don’t have to worry about scratching the paint. No worries necessary, just put the thing to work in your shop and watch the money roll in!

That’s assuming you have, or can create, a market for what the machine can produce. And if you can’t, we have some super-valuable resources to throw your way that can help you in that regard as well. Just ask about our marketing and sales assistance programs.

The machine sports a combination aluminum T-slot & vacuum channel table with individually selectable zones. This means you have flexibility in terms of how to hold down your parts and that saves you time & trouble every time you set up a job.

The machine is under power and can be inspected at our facility in LaFayette, Georgia, USA. If you buy this machine, you won’t have to be alone without support to help you get started. You can get training on-site when you pick the machine up. Or, if we ship the machine to you, we can train you via videoconference and remote desktop support applications. Many of our customers find this gives them peace of mind and helps them stave off the initial jitters getting started in cnc.

If you are already experienced with using a cnc router, you will find this one a breeze to use.

The machine is compatible with virtually all computer-aided machining software that output a gcode file. Vectric’s VCarve Pro or Aspire are a nice addition to the package. Other options include Enroute software, Autodesk Fusion 360, and many others.

Reach out to us for a FREE strategy session and we will get on a 20-minute call with a member of our team. We’ll get you all the information you need to make the best possible purchasing decision. Whether you ultimately decide to buy from us or from another supplier, we’ll make sure you do so armed with the information you need!

If ya know, ya know! We finally took delivery of our @ShopSabre CNC Sidekick 10 Plasma Cutting table!

For those that don’t know, a plasma cutter is the closest thing we have to an actual lightsaber here on earth. It uses a high-voltage electrical arc to split atoms creating plasma, which is then forced through metal with compressed air in a really tight beam of metal slicing energy. The CNC part, or computer numeric control, is where this technology is taken to the next level. Parts can be designed in a drafting software then sent to the included computer where its turned into a set of movement instructions for all the motors responsible for moving the gantry around the table. The level of precision possible with a machine like this is incredible, not to mention part repeatability.

Tay went back and forth about this move for quite a while but having been a fabricator for almost 15 years, he saw how a machine like this can do things that are either too time consuming or just plain impossible by hand. We are so stoked to see what becomes possible here at the studio with a machine like this. What should we build first?

What’s up guys! Here is a overview video on how I built my CNC plasma cutter. I’m planning on doing several more detailed videos on this subject, but I wanted to start off with a cliffhanger to get some buzz going.

For the cutter itself I used the YesWelder Cut-55DS, if you want to purchase anything from the YesWelder website you can use Coupon code “Strange” at checkout for 10% off your purchase.

I’m running the controller from Mach3 via a parallel port, and I’m generating my G-code from Fusion360.

Setting up a CNC controller:

Building a metal CNC structure:

All of my hardware was purchased from eBay:
Sain Smart 5 axis CNC breakout board
external drivers
NEMA23 stepper motors (twin shaft)
8MM pillow block bearings
8MM flexible shaft couplers
8MM ACME screw (47″ long)

Steel is 2X2 angle, and 2X2 tubing for the legs, with 3″ swivel casters underneath. I did not build the bed yet, one thing at a time.
