This tool setter will allow you to set your CNC tool length offsets quickly and accurately. To use this gage, just lower the tool down on the contact face of the gage until the indicator reads 0.000. At that point, you can be confident that the tip of your tool is exactly 4.000 from the surface the gage is sitting on. This tool setter can also be used for Bridgeport style milling machines.

This video explains a good basic set of CNC router bits beginners need to start with for a CNC router. This includes down bits, endmills, carving bits. You will also learn where to get everything you need. All links for the CNC router bits are below. Below is a link to a complete starter set of cnc router bits that are set up for the beginner. It also includes free files.

A good starter set of CNC router bits should be made of carbide steel. Cheap ‘practice’ bits are okay for just that. Consider them throw-away bits. they do not last long at all.

Once you get a basic understanding, then comes the search on Amazon and boy, is that frustrating. Don’t worry, the entire list of what you need is below and all links are provided for you to save that hassle (you’ll thank me later)

Without this basic set of router bits and tools, you will not be able to effectively run your CNC router. So, what are the best (and necessary) router bits and tools you will need for your new CNC router?

As much as you may not think you’ll need calipers, you’ll be glad you got them. Otherwise, you’ll unexpectedly cut into your spoilboard (and that’s not fun)

The video discusses this and a list is below so you don’t have to search for it.

You will need the items listed below to get started with your CNC router. Below are links to all the things I mentioned in the video including router bits and other tools you will need

This review tutorial is about CNC router bits for beginners and explains everything you need to know about CNC router bits. You will find what to look for and the best CNC router bit starter set. It is likely the best CNC router bits review on YouTube. It also tells you what router bits you need.

In it, you will learn what are the best router bits starter sets for beginners. As an absolute beginner, you will learn about good router bit sets, router bits and their cuts, the types of CNC router bits, feeds and speeds. And you will learn what are flutes, up cut bits (upcut), down cut bits (downcut), engraving bits, and carbide CNC router bits. Also discussed are coated router bits.

Covered are ballnose bits, endmills, v bit (or v-bits), surfacing bits, bowl bits, drag bits for engraving, T-slot bits. You will learn, as a beginner, which bits you need first and which to avoid.

This video goes into detail on bits and what they are made of. You will learn which wood bits are used for engraving, sign making, carving, bits for MDF, drag bits for engraving and t-slot bits.

CNC router bits can be used on aluminum, plastic, MDF, acrylic, and of course wood. Those details are covered in other videos.
