Blue Elephant 1325 CNC Router Machine Tour – a walk around and review of my machine.

As I’ve had quite a few people asking about my machine I thought I would make a video going over some of the features of it. I am certainly no expert on CNC routers but hopefully this will prove useful for anyone wanting to find out more about these machines.

I have used the Blue Elephant CNC router now for around 3 years, I tend to run it once or twice a week so it isn’t in constant use but it has been a very reliable machine. The only thing I have had go wrong so far was the drive belt on the Z axis breaking, that was due to me driving it down into the workpiece when zeroing the tool so my own fault. It was easy enough to replace though by just removing the cover. Have a look at the video and if there is anything I have missed then just let me know in the comments and I will do my best to answer any questions.

You can find the full spec of this machine on the Blue Elephant website here: https://www.elephant-cnc.com/pro/1325-wood-cnc-machine/

I hope this video will show you what to expect if you order a Shapeoko CNC router! It’s just a general overview of how the assembly process goes, and how the software provided by carbide3d is used. I didn’t mention it in the video, but the scrap piece of wood I do my first cut in is held in place with double sided mounting tape on the bottom. I would suggest getting a piece of plywood to place on top of the MDF board that comes with the Shapeoko just so that when you’re cutting all the way through a material and the bit hits the work surface, it will mill into your plywood instead of the MDF. Also Emelie is my wife, for those who are wondering.

In this video I make a candy cane Christmas ornament using my shapeoko pro xxl cnc router. I designed the candy cane in cad software and then cut it out on the router. Then I cut it out of the wood and sanded it down to make it smoother. Then I painted it red. After that I sanded the top of the ornament and removed the red paint, which left an almost white wood color, so I didn’t think I needed to paint it white. I thought it looked pretty good and put it in my Christmas tree. This was a fun little woodworking project I did and I thought you all might want to see it. Hopefully you enjoy the video. Thanks for Watching! #Shorts
