In this second video of our CNC milling series, you’ll learn how to transform a 3D file into G-code using Fusion360.

Mekanika’s goal is to facilitate local communities’ access to manufacturing processes, through open source tools and quality educational content.

The objective is to help create, prototype or produce small series with quality tools, which can be made by yourself or by ordering kits.

Each tool and machine we design are:
– entirely open source ;
– designed for disassembly – and therefore repairable, upgradable and non-obsolescent ;
– made for professional use ;

You can either buy a kit to support the project here: https://www.mekanika.io/r/cnc-catalogue.

or download our extended documentation to make our CNC machine by yourself: https://www.mekanika.io/r/cnc-os

Lazăr is a software robot built by Aggranda using Robotic Process Automation. Alex was built on the UiPath Platform.

The software robot is receiving emails with the orders. Each order contains:
– the type of object to be personalised (pen holder, cube, box etc.)
– the image to be printed on the object
– the text to be printed on the object

Lazăr does the followings:
– reads the email
– starts the software for the laser cutting machine
– loads the template for the object
– arranges image and text on the object
– generates a serial number for the object
– starts the laser cutting machine
– generates the invoice
– sends a confirmation email to the client

In this video I will be having a look at the Snapmaker 2.0, a 3-in-1 machine that can do laser engraving, 3D printing and CNC cutting. I will show you how easy it is to assemble, I will try out all of its functions and tell you how well they work and in the end I will tell you my opinion whether I think it is worth its price tag. Let’s get started!
